Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 May 2026
This privacy policy explains how PDF Splitter ("we", "our", "this site") handles your information. We have written it to be plain and short. If anything is unclear, please contact us using the details at the bottom.
1. The PDFs you split
Files you select with the PDF splitter are not uploaded to our servers. The split happens entirely inside your web browser using JavaScript. Your PDF, the split output, and any ZIP we create stay on your device. We have no copy of them and could not retrieve them even if asked.
2. Information we collect
This site is hosted on standard web hosting. The hosting provider may keep short-term access logs (such as IP address, browser type, time of request, and page accessed) for security and to keep the service running. These logs are processed on the basis of legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR / EU GDPR.
We do not run analytics that profile individual visitors. If we later add privacy-friendly analytics (for example Plausible or Simple Analytics) we will update this policy first.
3. Cookies
This site does not set any cookies. The PDF splitter runs entirely in your browser and does not store information about you.
4. Legal bases (UK GDPR / EU GDPR)
- Legitimate interest — for hosting access logs and basic site security.
5. Data retention
Hosting access logs are typically kept for up to 30 days by our hosting provider. We do not retain copies of any PDFs you process.
6. International transfers
Our hosting provider may process server logs at facilities outside the UK or EEA. Where this happens, transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses or other safeguards as required by UK GDPR / EU GDPR.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority in the EEA.
Because we do not store your PDFs and do not collect account information, there is usually nothing to retrieve or erase on our side. For data held by our hosting provider, please use the contact details below and we will help.
8. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date.
10. Contact
If you have questions about this policy, email contact@your-domain.com.
